Each inscription - whether a name, a date or an epitaph - is a fragment of memory, a testimony to the past and a precious source for historical and genealogical research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The process begins with a <strong>systematic survey<\/strong> graves: locating the graves, photographing the monuments, then faithfully transcribing the inscriptions. This work requires rigour and care, as ancient stones are sometimes altered by time, making the texts difficult to decipher.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Once transcribed, this data is <strong>structured and entered into our \u00abIsadora\u00bb database\u00bb<\/strong> (surnames, first names, dates of birth and death, particulars, professions, titles, etc.). This order enables researchers, descendants and heritage enthusiasts to access the information easily.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Over and above the practical dimension, the transcription of cemeteries plays an important role. <strong>heritage and remembrance<\/strong> :<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It saves endangered inscriptions.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It brings past generations back to life.<br \/>\nE<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It sheds light on the evolution of funerary practices, funerary art and local history.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In this way, the cemetery is no longer just a place of remembrance, but also a place of worship. <strong>book of stone<\/strong> where each grave tells a story, which transcription makes it possible to preserve and pass on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ff0000;\"><strong data-start=\"240\" data-end=\"259\">Important note:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><br data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"262\" \/><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ff0000;\">The transcription of the gravestones in the cemetery concerns only the old monuments that are still present and legible.<\/span><br data-start=\"386\" data-end=\"389\" \/><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ff0000;\">Only decipherable inscriptions were taken.
