Alphabetical tables.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1636\" data-end=\"1694\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #993366;\"><strong data-start=\"1636\" data-end=\"1694\">Article 2 of the imperial decree of 20 July 1807 states:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"2091\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The annual tables will be drawn up by the civil registrars, in the month following the closure of the register for the previous year; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 800\/317;\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"TyagGW_tableContainer\">\n<div class=\"group TyagGW_tableWrapper flex w-fit flex-col-reverse\" tabindex=\"-1\"><strong style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" data-start=\"2702\" data-end=\"2713\">Art. 2.<\/strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"> - Names will be entered on the tables in strict alphabetical order.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"2702\" data-end=\"2793\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"2795\" data-end=\"2806\">Art. 3.<\/strong> - The names entered in the tables of the supplementary registers will also be entered, in alphabetical order and according to the nature of the acts to which they relate, in the tables of the main registers.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"3019\" data-end=\"3030\">Art. 4.<\/strong> - When closing the tables, civil registrars will check that the names entered in the tables of the additional registers have been included in the respective tables of the main registers and, if there are no additional registers, they will certify that none exist.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"3327\" data-end=\"3338\">Art. 5.<\/strong> - The tables in the registers of marriage and death certificates will include the widowed woman in alphabetical order of her surname and that of her first husband, and even previous husbands if they were mentioned in the said certificates.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"3581\" data-end=\"3592\">Art. 6.<\/strong> - Names will begin with or precede the letter immediately following the letters D and V in alphabetical order.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"3715\" data-end=\"3726\">Art. 7.<\/strong> - In all cases where marginal entries are made in the civil status registers, they will also be entered in the tables in the manner prescribed by art. 49 of the Civil Code.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"3914\" data-end=\"3925\">Art. 8.<\/strong> - At the end of each table, two or three blank lines will be left to record any corrections or errors.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"4065\" data-end=\"4076\">Art. 9.<\/strong> - The Ministers of the Interior and of Justice are each responsible for the execution of this decree.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4209\" data-end=\"4629\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"4209\" data-end=\"4248\">Art. 5 of the decree of 20 July 1807<\/strong> instructed the clerks of the courts of first instance to draw up ten-yearly tables of civil status records during the first six months of the eleventh year. Under the terms of art. 5, three copies were to be made for each commune, one to be sent to the registry, the second to the provincial governors and the third to each commune within the jurisdiction of the court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4631\" data-end=\"4841\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The law of 2 June 1861 (<em data-start=\"4654\" data-end=\"4667\">Monit. of 5<\/em>) abolishes the dispatch intended for the provincial governors, and decides that the clerks will receive one cent per name, for the dispatch which must be sent to the communes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4843\" data-end=\"4912\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Each sheet must contain 96 names or lines (<em data-start=\"4892\" data-end=\"4911\">Art. 6 of the decree.<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4914\" data-end=\"5042\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The annual and decennial tables will be drawn up on stamped paper and certified by the respective depositaries. (<em data-start=\"5029\" data-end=\"5041\">Art. 4 id.<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5049\" data-end=\"5129\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #993366;\"><strong data-start=\"5053\" data-end=\"5129\">5. Publicity of registers. - Extracts. Fees payable for their issue.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"5131\" data-end=\"5510\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"5131\" data-end=\"5151\">Art. 45, C. civ.<\/strong> - Any person may obtain extracts from the civil status registers (civil registrar and court clerk). Extracts issued in conformity with the registers and legalised by the president of the court of first instance or by the judge who replaces him or her will be authentic until they are forged (1).<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5512\" data-end=\"5617\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"5512\" data-end=\"5529\">Observations.<\/strong> \u2014<\/span><br data-start=\"5531\" data-end=\"5534\" \/><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">a. The municipal clerk or any other employee may not issue extracts.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">b.
