It was founded on 12 March 1980, official journal of 22 March 1980. The articles of association have been deposited at the Pas de Calais prefecture in Arras. Member of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise de G\u00e9n\u00e9alogie (F.F.G) and the Union G\u00e9n\u00e9alogique du Nord Pas de Calais (U.G.N.P).<br \/>\nAn approved popular education organisation (no. 62-EP-239), it brings together people interested in genealogy in the Pas de Calais department, i.e. the former provinces of Artois and Boulonnais.
