\nThe association is a member of the Union G\u00e9n\u00e9alogique Poitou-Charentes Vend\u00e9e, affiliated to the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise de G\u00e9n\u00e9alogie.
\nThe aims of the association are to
\ngenealogy for people with origins in the Vienne department, who are interested in family history, and to encourage contacts and exchanges of information.
\nthe joint undertaking of work and the dissemination of studies of genealogical interest.
\ntaking part in local, national and international initiatives to develop and coordinate genealogical research and heritage preservation.
\nIn accordance with its articles of association, the Cercle G\u00e9n\u00e9alogiste Poitevin is also responsible for pooling the work of its members, promoting all activities relating to genealogy in the Vienne and encouraging mutual assistance between members.
\nTo this end, the association records baptisms, burials and marriages in all the communes and parishes of the Vienne. You can locate your surnames in the Cercle's records.
\nThe association publishes a directory of families studied by its members.
\nThe association has a library on both premises, the head office and the Paris branch, which includes records and a large number of books.
\nThe association publishes records of marriages, burials and christenings performed by members, for a small fee and for the exclusive use of members.
