The association is governed by the law of 1st July 1901. It was founded on 12 March 1980, official journal of 22 March 1980. The articles of association have been deposited at the Pas de Calais prefecture in Arras. Member of the Fédération Française de Généalogie (F.F.G) and the Union Généalogique du Nord Pas de Calais (U.G.N.P).
An approved popular education organisation (no. 62-EP-239), it brings together people interested in genealogy in the Pas de Calais department, i.e. the former provinces of Artois and Boulonnais. Members help each other free of charge.
The association also provides its members with the quarterly newsletter GENEALOGIE 62 and links with other genealogical associations in the department, the region, other regions and abroad.
