The Cercle généalogique de Boulogne-Billancourt was founded in 1996 on the private initiative of three people united by the same passion and desire to help each other.
These founding members were soon joined by dozens of people of all ages and backgrounds, some of whom have ancestors in Boulogne but far from the majority.
In 1997, the Association was registered with the Prefecture and set up around a team of motivated volunteers. A room was made available by a member, and the library was built up from contributions, purchases of books and subscriptions to various genealogical journals.
