It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of a great name in genealogy.
Claude Jaillard has left us. President of the association Généalogie en Corrèze, he devoted all his spare time to his passion, genealogy. Organiser of the major genealogical exhibition "Genco" in Brive La Gaillarde, he and his wife Anne-Marie travelled the length and breadth of France to represent the Corrèze at genealogy fairs. Many of us, whether visitors, organisers or exhibitors, had the opportunity to meet him at one of these fairs. An engaging and generous character, Claude never left anyone indifferent. He was always ready to share his experience, his organisational skills, his address book and his extensive knowledge of genealogy.
Always ready to help his fellow man, although a great promoter of associative genealogy, he was always keen to help, as best he could, those who were embarking on a professional genealogical adventure.
St Exupéry said: "A man is never quite dead as long as there is someone to speak his name".
Claude, if everyone you've met, supported or helped takes your first name in turn, you won't be leaving us any time soon...
Our association shares the grief of his family and friends. Rest in peace Claude, we will always remember you fondly.
