The Archives of Canon Law Institutions

The documents rescued from the fire at the State Archives in Mons have been divided into the following collections: Manuscripts, Cartularies, Obituaries and Local Archives
1) Bishopric
The bishopric of Tournai was established at the end of the 5th century.^e century, it was united to that of Noyon at the beginning of the VII^e century, independent since 1146; its boundaries were modified in 1559 and 1802.
The Tournai Archives have 101 items for the period 1393-1794 and 21 items for the period 1040-1806.
