ABATTUCCI Pierre Jean, Belgian painter and lithographer associated with the Neo-Impressionist movement, born on 20 May 1871 in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, son of ABATTUCCI Jacques confiseur born in Asche aged 34 and of SENDERS Pétronille born in Luyks-Gistel (Netherlands), aged 28, married in Brussels. He married in DE MESMAEKER Catherine Louise born in 1885 and died in 1956. He died on 20 December 1942 in Ixelles, Belgium.
He began his training at the city's School of Decorative Arts, working with STROOBANT François, the city's School of Decorative Arts, working with François STROOBANTan institution where he also later taught. He then moved to Brussels from 1892 to 1897 to attend the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, studying under a coterie of eminent Belgian artists that included STALLAERT Joseph , PORTAËLS Jean François and VAN DER STAPPEN Charles . ABATTUCCI was a lithographer as well as a painter, and his trips to Italy served as inspiration throughout his career. The artist died on 20 December 1942 in Ixelles, Belgium.
